3 DAYS TOUR TO KOLA PENINSULA OF RUSSIA
The Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis) is a unique natural phenomenon of the planet. Few people know that the Northern Lights can be observed since the end of August, that it does not depend on snow, frost and the coming of winter. Autumn Aurora is as beautiful and enchanting as winter Aurora, and it originates from the activity of the Sun in the night time.
We invite you to participate the exciting Northern Lights hunting, and during daytime take an autumn Murmansk city tour, visit the ancient fishing village of Teriberka, which became a place of worship for tourists after the release of the “Leviathan” film, visit the ethnic settlement of the Kola Sami – the indigenous inhabitants of the Russian North!
We will give you a feeling of true freedom, magnificent views of the Arctic Ocean, autumn landscapes of harsh northern nature and unbelievable impressions of rest and travel.
And if the nature will be merciful, we will see the legendary Northern Lights. In this tour you will be accompanied by a professional photographer who will capture this memorable moment on his camera. After the tour you can get these photos.

DAY 1 – MURMANSK CITY TOUR
Murmansk is the largest city in the world located beyond the Arctic Circle. It is called the capital of the Russian Arctic. From here began the great expeditions to explore the most northern continent of our planet.
Arrival of group members, self check-in at the hotel (transfer on request).
12:00 – 13:00 – Gathering of participants
13:00 – Departure
13:00 – 15:00 – The tour begins with a visit to the monument to Alyosha – “Defenders of the Arctic.” This 35 meter monument is a symbol of Murmansk. Here is the ancient rocky ledge “Lamb’s forehead”, whose age is more than 2.5 billion years
we will go to the memorial complex to sailors who died in peacetime. In the center there is a Lighthouse next to which is a ship anchor and a capsule filled with seawater, we’ll see a fragment of conning tower of the legendary nuclear submarine Kursk

16:10 – 17:00 – In this part of the program we will visit the largest ice-free seaport beyond the Arctic Circle. The world’s first nuclear-powered icebreaker “Lenin” was parked forever here. From the berths you can admire the port, the bay, passing ships and take interesting pictures
17:00 – 18:00 – Excursion to the world’s first nuclear-powered icebreaker “Lenin”

DAY 2 – EXCURSION TO THE COAST OF THE ARCTIC OCEAN (Teriberka village)
A trip to the legendary northern village, located on the very edge of the earth, in recent years has become a place of pilgrimage for tourists from around the world.
08:00 – 09:00 – Gathering of participants
09:00 – Departure
09:00 – 11:00 – Journey to Teriberka begins from Murmansk and passes along the Arctic tundra, where there is completely no vegetation in the form of trees
11:00 – 13:00 – Excursion in the village Teriberka. The place became known because of the filming a movie «Leviathan», which was nominated for an Oscar in 2014. Abandoned fishing huts and a local life.
13:00 – 14:00 – Lunch in a cafe
14:00 – 16:00 – We will make a stop at the cemetery of old abandoned ships scuttled in a small bay, take a walk along the coast and visit a picturesque waterfall that flows into the Arctic Ocean, take great selfies on a cliff of a cliff that goes into the sea depths …
16:00 – Departure to Murmansk
18:00 – Arrival to Murmansk
Free time or departure for the excursion «Hunting the Northern Lights» under favorable weather conditions
DAY 3 – EXCURSION TO SAMI PEOPLE AND REINDEERS
Excursion to the indigenous inhabitants of the Kola Peninsula! Meeting with reindeers, original stories, real northern meal!
09:00 – 10:00 – Gathering of excursion participant
10:00 – 11:00 – Trip to the Sami ethnic settlement
11:00 – 12:00 – Acquaintance with the Sami culture will begin with Seyda — the sacred Sami stone, the object of ancient Sami worship, which, according to their beliefs, has a secret mystical power. Then we will explore the traditional Sami dwellings — Kuoksa and Vezha, hear stories about Sami culture, customs, beliefs, as well as the legends of this people at the divorced hearth in the plague. The representative of the Sami people will show us the shamanistic rites that are passed down from generation to generation
12:00 – 12:30 – In this part of the program we will see real reindeers, feed them with reindeer moss, take unique selfies with these friendly creatures and hear a story about the features of their breeding and lifestyle
12:30 – 14:00 – Lunch and tea with Sami tea brewed from local herbs and roots. Photo in Sami national dress on the territory of the settlement, riding in a sledge following snowmobile
14:00 – 15:00 – Departure to Murmansk
15:00 – End of excursion
19:00 – Departure to the Hunting Northern Lights (note: the exact time for the start of the excursion is determined on the day of departure! If the conditions are unfavorable on the current day, we delay the trip till the next day).
20:00 – Arrival at the place, photo session against the backdrop of the northern lights, hot tea, coffee.
02:00 – Return to Murmansk.
Note: duration of Hunting the Northern Lights is 4-6 hours. It depends on the current weather and solar activity conditions.
